Coach's Corner

Coaches: General Information & Starters guide to JBO baseball games.

Head coaches are encouraged to work with assistant coaches on practice planning, rotations, and batting order. To find success you are encouraged to hold a parent / team meeting to set an outline of expectations for the upcoming season. What they should expect from you, and what you expect from them.

Home coaches are required to prepare the fields for play, supply 2 game balls to the umpires, and are responsible for their dugout, and fans. Your job is to set up offensive and defensive rotations that ensure you are compliant with JBO rules.  The winning coach is required to report the game results to WSYB & log pitch counts for both teams.  You will find the links to WSYB below, along with some basic information for each level.   We have a mandatory coach meeting for WSYB before the season starts, where you can also get more detailed information. All the links you need for the season are duplicated on our website, to make them easier to find.

Please refer to JBO rule book / NFHS rule book for expanded information

Coaching, without a doubt, is one of the most important jobs on the field. Players learn how to be good sports by watching their coaches. They learn how to have discipline. They learn how to have good technique. They learn how to play safe but aggressive. Below are numerous links for coaches--and parents, too--to peruse. You will find information about JBO rules as well as how to keep your ball players brain safe with the concussion information.
